Process and Tasks
Step 1: Select and Justify a Socio-Technical Challenge:
Download and read the United Nations Sustainability Development Goal 4.
Identify a problem related to Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education. (See Infographic below for problems to solve)
Identify the problem you are solving and for whom. (e.g. Define your Audience)
The problem you identify needs to be properly justified with Data and big enough to fit into a project of at least 10 people and a 6-24 months’ schedule
You may need to use a project Management tool such as Jira and a group communication tool such as Confluence to show your project and communication plans.
The below is a Guide of Subsequent Steps to take:
Step 2: Empathise with Key Stakeholders:
You may utilise the Empathy Map technique to gain a deeper understanding of a specific stakeholder’s problem within the selected challenge (you can create justified Personas based on secondary data from your research; No need to collect Primary data such as surveys or interviews). Identify a genuine problem for a specific end-user, considering key actors and explaining your choice.
Step 3: Idea Generation:
Apply the Lotus Blossom technique to brainstorm potential solutions, including both data-driven approaches (big data, advanced analytics, and AI) and conventional methods. Aim for a balanced mix of data-driven and traditional solutions. S upply references to support your ideas.
Step 4: Develop Top Three Data-Driven Solutions:
Select the top three data-driven solutions and further refine them to ensure they are human-centred and effectively address the real problem identified in Step 2. Supply references to support your ideas.
Step 5
Create a project management and communication plan to implement your recommended solution (You may want to use Jira and Confluence from the Atlassian suite of products)
Step 6: Create a Presentation
Prepare a presentation to visually and verbally communicate your research and ideas. Each group will have a 5-minute presentation slot, followed by a possible 2-minute Q&A session.
Step 7: Write a Professional Change Management Plan:
Summarise your findings and recommendations in a comprehensive change management plan. This plan should provide a detailed roadmap for implementing the solutions generated in steps 3 to 5, with a focus on addressing the chosen socio-technical challenge while being human-centred and process-oriented.
