Final Assessment Instructions
Word count: 1000 words
DUE: 2 days at most
Hello my friend this is a Reflective Learning Journal for the unit I have been doing “Sustaining the Employment Relationship”. Also a Google Drive link will be provided with the lecture slides you will need to write your reflective journal.
** please keep in mind the word count is 1000 (max 1100)** The whole point of this assignment is to write down what you’ve learnt. So I guess imagine yourself in the class and read through each of the lecture slides I have provided in the google drive ( WK3.1,WK5.1 etc.) In the google drive you will also find the references recommended to use in the Thematic Analysis part (REF1,REF2 etc.)
The first part of this assessment, the learning journal entries, uses a free writing approach that will allow you to capture your observations and insights as they emerge. This supports reflective practice and deep learning. In the second part, you will draw out key themes from your journal and develop a structured critical analysis.

Please follow the structure I have written below.
- Introduction
- This section outlines the chosen themes, their underlying rationale, and the research that informed your perspective on reflection, reflective practice, and reflective learning.
- Reflective Log (Part 1) (no referencing required)
- The first part of this assessment requires you to prepare five reflective journal entries of your learning in weeks 3, 5, 7, 10 and 12.
- These learning journal entries should be prepared using a free writing style and if possible, they should be prepared in the designated weeks to capture the observations when they are current.
- In this part, no citations are required.
- Thematic Analysis (Part 2) (referencing required, plz see google drive link for references to use)
- The second part of this assessment requires you to draw your unstructured reflections into a structured critical reflection on three key themes relating to your learning in this unit. Students are expected to incorporate academic resources related to the selected themes.
- Theme 1: The subject matter covered by the unit
- Theme 2: Ethical practice. This encompasses exercising sound judgement to influence decision-making, applying active listening skills in decision-making, identifying, and resolving conflicts of interest, and taking accountability for your own actions in your study and work.
- Theme 3: Can include one of the following:
- teaching and learning model used,
- reflective practice,
- the relevance of this unit to your professional practice, or
- any other theme you choose that is relevant to your critical reflection on your learning in this unit.
- Conclusion
- In this section, provide a brief summary of your reflection, highlighting key insights and significant aspects of your learning journey.
- Explain the reasoning behind selecting specific themes and articulate their relevance to your overall reflection
- Reference List (APA 7th Edition)
- In Part 1: Reflective log, no citations are required, as it focuses on the student’s own observations and insights from their learning journal.
- In Part 2: Thematic analysis, students are expected to incorporate academic resources relevant to their selected themes.
What is Freewriting?
Individuals often use free writing as a prewriting technique in which they write continuously for a certain amount of time and ignore grammatical rules. During the free writing process, you proceed as if you were writing the essay or story itself.
Another way to think of free writing is by way of the term stream of consciousness, where you allow your mind to go where it will, from one idea to another, while recording your thoughts. As you plan out your composition in a more organised way, you may later eliminate what you initially wrote down
GOOGLE DRIVE LINK W/ all the lecture slides for the required weeks, and references to use. I have also provided an example of a previous assignment that is somewhat similar to this one, if you need assistance with layout or how to write it. Do not copy it though.
