(e) Coursework which exceeds the word limit will be penalised by the deduction of 1% for every 2% that the word limit is exceeded.

A bibliography should be included at the end of the coursework.

Key reading and learning resources

You should start with the reading material provided at the start of the relevant lecture or lectures, including relevant chapters of the kortext and the lecture slides and your notes from seminars. Any literature posted on MyUniHub for the relevant lecture(s) should also be used. The reading list also contains further reading material. Further reading can be found through these materials. You are expected to use more than the handbook and the kortext book.

Write an essay based on the of the following question.

“To what extent does the International Criminal Court (ICC) effectively fulfil its mandate and uphold justice? Discuss, with reference to relevant ICC case law, the court’s jurisdiction and  enforcement mechanisms, and challenges to secure state cooperation.”
