Case Study Analysis Report.
For this assessment you must select an international company of your choice (with international operations) and analyse and critically evaluate its international operations of that company with respect to rationale for going international (global), entry into a foreign market and management of its foreign operations. You should also discuss the related challenges and issues it faces. Focusing on the chosen company, you are expected to conduct a detailed analyse of its internationalisation process.
You are to identify its decision to enter in a foreign market, what challenges it faces in that process, how it is managing its foreign operations, what mode of entry it adopted and why. This should be followed by a discussion of suggestions for future growth or changes in its exiting internationalisation strategies.
More specifically, there are three main aspects of this assignment. First, provide the theoretical background of the key areas/concepts covered. Second, provide a detailed overview of the case study company and, using secondary data, explain the internationalisation operations of the company focusing particularly on the theoretical areas you selected. Finally, present you findings/conclusions and link them with the theoretical areas covered. You can consider using some or all of the following suggestions.
- Analyse the historical strategic development of the chosen case study company (company background) leading to its decision to go global.
- Strategic choices available to the company, and why and how a particular choice to internationalise was made.
- Challenges of internationalisation the company faces along with the opportunities for the further growth of the company.
- Mode of entry in the foreign market adopted by the company the reasons for choosing such a mode.
- How is the company managing its foreign operations?
- You might consider the pros and cons of FDI from home country and host country perspective.
- Using different theoretical concepts, devise company’s growth trajectory, focusing particularly on building its presence in foreign markets.
- Devise a plan of action with recommendations.
- Use appropriate international business theories, models and/or frameworks to support your answer.
This assessment is to be completed by Wednesday 21st May 2025 and uploaded into Turnitin via Moodle.
