For this discussion, you will create a short video (3-5 minutes) reflecting on the SMART goal you set earlier in the term. You will be evaluated on your self-awareness, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Video Requirements:
- Video Platform: Use Teams, Zoom, or Canvas Studio’s Screen Capture feature.
- Video Format: Your face must be visible on camera (in the corner as you present your paper).
- Professional Attire: Dress professionally.
- Introduction: Introduce yourself and show your identification.
Reflection Questions:
To guide your reflection, consider the following questions:
- Initial Expectations:
- What did you expect from the goal-setting process before you started?
- Why did you have these expectations?
- Goal Selection:
- Why did you choose this specific SMART goal?
- Learning Experience:
- What did you learn from the process of setting and working towards your goal?
- What was the most valuable experience you gained?
- Impact on Daily Life:
- How did this experience impact your daily life or routines?
- Course Relevance:
- How did this experience relate to the course objectives?
Tips for a Strong Reflection:
- Be Honest and Authentic: Share your genuine thoughts and feelings.
- Use Specific Examples: Illustrate your points with concrete examples.
- Show Growth and Learning: Highlight how you’ve developed and what you’ve learned.
- Connect to the Future: Discuss how this experience will influence your future goals and aspirations.
By following these guidelines and addressing the reflection questions, you can create a thoughtful and informative video that demonstrates your learning and growth.
Submission Instructions:
- You should respond to at least two of your peers by extending, refuting/correcting, or adding additional nuance to their posts.
- All replies must be constructive and use literature where possible.
- Please post your initial response by 11:59 PM ET Thursday, and comment on the posts of two classmates by 11:59 PM ET Sunday.
- Late work policies, expectations regarding proper citations, acceptable means of responding to peer feedback, and other expectations are at the discretion of the instructor.
- You can expect feedback from the instructor within 48 to 72 hours from the Sunday due date.
