Homework: Key Assessment 2: Literature Review

Purpose:
The goal is to synthesize multiple research articles into a coherent narrative.
A literature review is a written narrative that explains a topic in-depth. However, it is much more than a collection of article summaries and critiques. A literature review builds on the annotated bibliography by synthesizing the information using a systematic organizational structure that combines summary, critical analysis, and synthesis. The University of North Carolina’s Writing Center explains –
A summary is a recap of the important information of the source, but a synthesis is a reorganization, or a reshuffling, of that information. It might give a new interpretation of old material or combine new with old interpretations. Or it might trace the intellectual progression of the field, including major debates. And depending on the situation, the literature review may evaluate the sources and advise the reader on the most pertinent or relevant.
There are numerous ways of organizing a literature review, such as thematic or chronological. Review the UNC’s descriptions to understand the different organization structures, then select the one that best fits the topic and research.

Task Description:
Your literature review should:
Provide an in-depth explanation of the research topic
Move beyond just summarizing each article by synthesizing all the research articles using a systematic organizational structure
Incorporate all 12 journal articles [20 maximum] from the annotated bibliography
Additional Details:
In-text citations and reference list must be in APA format
Minimum of 1,500 words [1,850 words if a group is submitting the same document]
Clear, well-edited writing with no errors or contractions (e.g., don’t, can’t)
