Competency Name: BUS 353: Legal and Ethical Issues in Business
Competency Statement: An overview of business and society, corporate social responsibility and ethics; focused study of legal topics including the Constitution, contracts, torts and government regulation. Developing analytical skills and professional communication skills are emphasized.
Final Assessment Title: Digital Presentation – Building an Ethics Program
Competency Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
- CLO 1: Students will be able to identify historical data which gave rise to business ethics and how stakeholders define ethical issues.
- CLO 2: Students will be able to identify how society has legally held organizations responsible for managing ethical issues as well as defining core or best practices.
- CLO 3: Students will be able to identify the framework for ethical decision making in business and explain how business professionals make ethical decisions.
Purpose of the Assessment:
The goal of this presentation is to build an Ethics Program for a company that is facing a similar problem listed in one of the cases presented on Milestone 2, you should use the same one you already wrote about.
Students should make a parallel between the Ethical Decision Making Process and the Globalization of Ethical Decision Making, discussing Globalization, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and their influence on ethical decision-making in business, bringing the concepts covered during the course to build the Ethics Program.
Submission Artifacts:
- For those of you who choose to use Prezi, go to prezi.com, create a free account and go through a quick tutorial to learn the program. There is a slight learning curve to learn to adequately use the web tool.
- Each presentation must have a minimum of 20 slides, not including YouTube videos. Feel free to exceed this number, you can create up to 30 slides.
- Students should work to make the most aesthetically pleasing presentation possible. Submission:
Students will create a digital presentation using a presentation tool of their choosing (Prezi, PowerPoint, Key, etc.) in response to the assignment prompt. Prezi is a digital tool that students can use to create digital presentations, it is a free option for students and makes very professional presentations with a little learning curve. You may use it or seek out what you are most comfortable with.
Students will use their preferred presentation tool, create the presentation, and then embed their presentations into the discussion forum. In order to do so, you can upload it to a cloud service (such as Google Drive) and add a public link to your discussion post. This way, you will not have problems with the size of the file.
Assignment Prompt:
