This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin.InstructionsPaul wrote most of his letters to the churches during his missionary journeys. As you prepare to study the Pauline Epistles next week, it is helpful to get a grasp of the journeys of Paul that are recorded in Acts. You will complete this assignment in two parts.

    Part 1

Complete the attached map by drawing Paul’s first, second, third missionary journeys and his trip to Rome during his imprisonment.

    • First Missionary Journey (Acts 13–14)
    • Second Missionary Journey (Acts 15:36–18:22)
    • Third Missionary Journey (Acts 18:23–20:38)
    • Roman Imprisonment (Acts 27–28)

Draw each journey through the locations visited. Get creative! You are welcome to use colored pencils, fun lines, font, etc. Complete the map by hand. Use the maps in your textbook or the back of a study Bible for assistance. Each missionary journey should have its own distinct color to separate it from the rest.

    Part 2

Create a presentation on Paul’s journeys. For each journey, include the following information:

    • The locations he visited
    • The letters he wrote
    • Two to three key events from the journey

Your presentation should include the location and/or timeframe during his ministry that Paul wrote each of his thirteen letters. Rely on your textbook for help with this assignment. You may need to look ahead at some letters to learn when they were written. Cite your textbook when you use it. You are also welcome to use academic sources from libguides.ccu.edu. You are not permitted to use nonacademic Internet sources for this project.

Use cited graphics to make your presentation aesthetically instructive and include at least one map. The text of your slides should be basic. Include detailed explanations of the meaning of your slide text in the presenter’s notes.

Your presentation should be 8–10 slides, not including the title and reference slide. You must include the presenter’s notes for each slide. For help with the presenter’s notes, view this webpage.

You will submit your assignment in two parts. Your map can be completed by hand, and you can submit it by taking pictures or scanning your map. Submit your presentation as a PowerPoint Presentation. Submit both pieces of the assignment together by adding all files to your submission.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR, also called corporate conscience, corporate citizenship, or responsible business) is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. CSR policy functions as a self-regulatory mechanism whereby a business monitors and ensures its active compliance with the spirit of the law, ethical standards, and national or international norms. With some models, a firm’s implementation of CSR goes beyond compliance and engages in “actions that appear to further some social good, beyond the interests of the firm and that which is required by law.” The aim is to increase long-term profits and shareholder trust through positive public relations and high ethical standards to reduce business and legal risk by taking responsibility for corporate actions. CSR strategies encourage the company to make a positive impact on the environment and stakeholders including consumers, employees, investors, communities, and others.

Every year, Reputation Institute, a private global consulting firm based in New York, invites about 47,000 consumers, across fifteen markets, to participate in a study that ranks the world’s one hundred most reputable companies—all multinational businesses with a global presence. One of their recent studies found that 42 percent of how people feel about a company is based on their perceptions of the firm’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).

    Your Task

    1. Select a company (domestic or international) that will be the basis for your research.
    2. Research the company’s record in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Be sure to look at both their domestic and well as international reputation.
    3. Complete a written assignment that contains the following information:
      1. A brief (one-paragraph) summary of the business you selected.
      2. According to your research, how does the company rank with regard to CSR? Be sure to provide a source for this ranking!
      3. Describe specific examples of corporate actions that resulted in this company’s ranking.
      4. Does a company’s approach to CSR influence your purchasing decisions? Why or why not?

DO NOT write your paper as a series of answers to these numbered questions. This assignment should follow the written assignment guidelines for the course. Be sure to include APA (or your preferred method) formatted citations of the Web sites or other sources you used for your research.

    Small Business Management

    Unit IV Scholarly Activity

After reading the case study, In Chapter 8 of your textbook, read the case study “Business Case: Superior Engineering in Texas: Stay or Go?” address the following questions in a minimum of three pages:

    • Does Superior fit the definition of a small business or an entrepreneurial venture? Please explain.
    • Reconcile the executive team’s concerns regarding Texas’s poor performance with Figures 1–3 in the case. Complete a vertical analysis for both Superior without the Texas SBU and for the Texas SBU as a separate analysis.
    • Why has Texas struggled to be profitable? What does a vertical analysis of Superior’s financials suggest about the Texas operation versus Superior as a whole?
    • What are your recommendations for Superior and the Texas operation? Should the Texas operation be discontinued? Why, or why not? Based on your answer, describe how you would handle the human resource management (HRM) decisions related to your decision to keep or discontinue the Texas operation. Summarize how your analysis impacts HR activities.

In your analysis, you must propose one entrepreneurial action or solution (a nontraditional solution) that would benefit the company.

Conclude your case study by answering the following question from a general business perspective (not focused on the Superior Engineering case). This part of your paper should be at least one page in length.

    • How can the information on the financial statements help you make better decisions regarding human resource (HR) planning for a small business?

Be sure to use subheadings in your paper as opposed to a question-answer format.

Your complete paper should be at least four pages in length, not counting the title or reference pages. References should include your eTextbook and a minimum of two additional credible sources. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.

    Mini-Case 2 (50 Points)

    BUS1 121A-005 Intermediate Accounting I

Due: Wednesday October 23, 2024 at the beginning of class

Answer the following questions.  Assume each question is independent from the last.  Please type using a word processing program and bring a printed copy to class.  Write as much or as little as you feel necessary to answer each question to the best of your ability.  You may use all available resources to complete this case – e.g., lecture slides, notes, your book, and the Accounting Standards Codification.  Collaboration with others in your group is allowed to the extent that it is helpful.  How you work together is up to you – however, I encourage everyone in the group to take at least some part for every question.  Please turn in only one finished assignment for each group.

Use appropriate citations where relevant and according to your professional judgment.  For questions requiring use of the codification, please use the following style:

    1)     Cite the ASC down to the Paragraph.  For example, (ASC 330-10-05-01)

    2)     Interpret the codification paragraph into ‘plain English’ as best you can.  In other words, how would you explain the appropriate accounting treatment to a colleague, boss, or business partner who has a basic understanding of accounting?  You may (and are encouraged to) use debits and credits or “T-accounts” to illustrate the accounting if appropriate.

    Question 1 (ASC Required – 10 points):

Under U.S. GAAP, how should a corporation account for the repurchase of its own stock?

    Question 2 (ASC Required – 20 points):

You are the Controller for a large publicly traded company which has three major components of its business: a manufacturing arm, a merchandising arm which focuses on sales of the internally-manufactured products, and a capital financing arm which previously focused on providing financing to purchasers of the company’s products, but has since moved into consumer financing on a wide scale as a way to leverage the company’s cash resources.  Previously, all of these operations were aggregated on the firm’s financial statements.  However, your auditor has expressed concern and recommended that you reconsider how you report these segments.  You don’t remember anything about this from your accounting classes.  Use the ASC to determine how to differently report the firm’s financials in the future.

    Question 3 (ASC Required – 20 points):

You decide to get into the mining business after graduation.  You purchase a large tract of land in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains to search for precious minerals.  However, as part of the land purchase and in order to begin mining, you agree with the state of California to return the land back to its original appearance once you are done mining.   Find and interpret ASC guidance for how to account for this circumstance.  (You may need to cite more than one paragraph.)

      (Z =value, p =value). Report the p level out three digits.
      Part 2
Write a 1,000-1,250-word data analysis paper outlining the procedures used to analyze the
parametric and nonparametric variables in the mock data, the statistics reported, and a conclusion
of the results. Include the following in your paper:
    7. Discussion of the types of statistical tests used and why they have been chosen.
    8. Discussion of the differences between parametric and nonparametric tests.
    9. Description of the reported results of the statistical tests above.
    10. Summary of the conclusive results of the data analyses.
    11. Attach the SPSS outputs from the statistical analysis as an appendix to the paper.
    12. Attach the “Comparison Table of the Variable’s Level of Measurement” as an appendix to
      the paper.
Use the following guidelines to report the test results for your paper:
 Statistically Significant Difference: When reporting exact p values, state early in the
data analysis and results section, the alpha level used for the significance criterion for all
tests in the project. Example: An alpha or significance level of < .05 was used for all
statistical tests in the project. Then if the p-level is less than this value identified, the result
is considered statistically significant. A statistically significant difference was noted
between the scores before compared to after the intervention t(24) = 2.37, p = .007.
 Marginally Significant Difference: If the results are found in the predicted direction but
are not statistically significant, indicate that results were marginally Example: Scores
indicated a marginally significant preference for the intervention group (M = 3.54, SD =
      1.20) compared to the baseline (M= 3.10, SD = .90), t(24) = 1.37, p = .07. Or there was a
marginal difference in readmissions before (15) compared to after (10) the intervention
      ꭓ2(1) = 4.75, p = .06.
 Nonsignificant Trend: If the p-value is over .10, report results revealed a non-significant
trend in the predicted direction. Example: Results indicated a non-significant trend for the
      intervention group (14) over the baseline (12), ꭓ2(1) = 1.75, p = .26.
The results of the inferential analysis are used for decision-making and not hypothesis testing. It is
important to look at the real results and establish what criterion is necessary for further
implementation of the project’s findings. These conclusions are a start.
