  • Title: Guiding Children Through Mistakes: A Teacher’s Role in Developing Socioemotional Skills

It is important for children to have the freedom to make mistakes. As children learn, it is a teacher’s responsibility to guide them through their mistakes, so they are able to respond and develop their social and emotional skills appropriately.
For this assignment, review the case scenarios below to develop plans to guide the children through their mistakes, allowing them to use the mistakes as learning opportunities.
    Case Scenario 1: Joey
Joey is a four-year-old child whose family recently relocated to a new town. Joey joined his new Pre-K classroom four months into the school year, after the community of the classroom was established and friendships formed. Joey is a rule-follower and seems to be adjusting well, but he usually plays alone and is shy. One day, Joey is painting at the art center and after finishing his own painting, he begins painting on another child’s work. The other child is visibly upset that her work has been painted on. She and her friend tell Joey that he is not nice and they do not want him there because he painted on her work. When confronted by the other children, he says that there was no more paper, begins crying, and runs to the corner. He has now isolated himself and refuses to speak to anyone.
    Case Scenario 2: Olivia
Olivia is a kindergarten student entering school for the first time. She is an only child and has had little exposure to other children. While playing a game, Olivia takes all of the cards from another child. The other child tells Olivia, “That isn’t fair! You need to share!” as he grabs some of the cards back. Olivia gets very close to the other child’s face and yells, “I am the princess! Give me those now!” She then grabs the cards and hits him before walking away.
With occurrences like these, teachers typically arrange to meet with parents to discuss the situation and develop a unified approach to remedying it. Best practice is to follow up the discussion with written confirmation of what was agreed to.
For each of the scenarios above, write 150-250 word discussion outline and a 150-250 word follow up letter including the following:
    Part 1: Discussion outline
Explain the situation you observed in your classroom.
Describe what actions you took immediately following the occurrence, and the child’s reaction.
How you will collaborate with the student to use mistakes as learning opportunities to develop healthy socioemotional skills and create a respectful, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Suggestions for how parents/guardians can support appropriate behavior at home through respectful, reciprocal relationships.
    Part 2: Follow-up letter
Brief summary of the student’s classroom behavior.
Summary of corrective steps you took and will take to help the student to develop appropriate behavior.
At-home strategies to encourage student to develop healthy socioemotional skills.
How you will follow-up with the family about the child’s future behavior and progress.

  • “Exploring Humility: A Biblical and Organizational Perspective”

This is the feedback that I got and what needs to be done to the essay.
“This is a good start. I have two suggestions. First, use the definition of humility that you set up in the first section to be the lens that you view the biblical characters. Second, expand the third section. I’d really like to see more research on humility in pluralistic organizations.”

    SCRD Poster Presentation
This assignment is an excellent opportunity to learn several important skills as an ABA Scientist-Practitioner. First, you will design an evidence-based research study as it applies to a problem behavior for a client. Then, you will create a poster presentation of your completed study. Finally, you will use Kaltura Capture to create a video presentation that further discusses the poster and the SCRD that you designed. This is an excellent skill to learn as you enter the field of ABA and attend or participate in conferences for professional development.
    Assignment Directions
For this assignment, you will construct a hypothetical (or actual) single case research design (SCRD) study that will be used to create a scholarly poster presentation. Choose one of the scenario options to construct your SCRD and use the Unit 9 Assignment Planning Template to organize the elements for your study. Alternatively, you may use a client you are currently working with; however, be sure that has been discussed with your instructor by the end of Unit 3 so that you can get specific guidance on the process.
Begin by conducting research and finding at least three peer-reviewed academic sources that provide an evidence-based analysis of the specific intervention that will be used to support the target behavior that you will focus on for your client. Then, use the Unit 9 Assignment Template to build your poster presentation and use Kaltura Capture to record a 3–5-minute video presentation of your poster. Please read the assignment requirements for details on the guidelines and expectations.
    Please include the following:
    Study Title
Provide a title for your study that reflects the dependent/independent variables and the subjects. For example: Use of Non-Contingent Reinforcement on the Perpetual Squawking of a Parrot with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
    Introduction
Provide a rationale as to why you chose this study, based on the literature that you reviewed. What makes your study a unique contribution to the field?
Include your research statement phrased as: “The purpose of this study is to….”
Be sure that it is clear as to what your study is looking to investigate or prove, and that both the independent and dependent variables in your research statement.
    Methods/Materials
Include information on the participant(s), setting(s), materials, dependent variable, and procedures used in your study. Be sure to identify the research design you selected.
    Results
Include a graphical representation of the data (hypothetical for the case study or actual if you are using a client) that meets ABA conventions for the selected graph(s).
Do NOT copy and paste any data or graphs from alternate sources.
Provide a brief summary of the results.
    Discussion
Summarize the effectiveness and discuss the limitations of your study.
Consider the pros and cons of the research design, the number of participants, the lack of generality, etc.
In addition to the Poster Presentation, you will submit a brief paper (5-7 pages) to further discuss the SCRD that you designed. Your original paper should include the following:
    Title Page
Annotated Bibliography of the three articles.
Include a brief description of the research question(s) and hypothesis as well as the method, setting, subjects, and research design used. Be sure your annotated bibliograph provides a summary of the results and the conclusions as reported by the author(s) of the study.
Rationale of why the chosen design is appropriate for the study.
Assessment of the advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of the chosen research design.
Discussion of reliability and validity of the
A graphical representation of the data used for the study, followed by your own visual analysis of data to include:
A summary of the within and between condition effects of the research design.
A comparison of level, trend, and immediacy of effect.
Calculations that identify variability or stability of data within a condition.
A discussion of the split middle line of progress to determine trend and the Percentage of Non-overlapping Data (PND).

  • Title: Ethical Considerations and Auditing Procedures for Contingent Liabilities in Columbia Corporation’s Financial Statements

You are retained by Columbia Corporation to audit its financial statements for the fiscal year ended June 30. Your consideration of internal control indicates a fairly satisfactory condition, although there are not enough employees to permit an extensive separation of duties. The company is one of the smaller units in its industry, but it has realized net income of about $500,000 in each of the last three years.
Near the end of your fieldwork, you overhear a telephone call received by the president of the company while you are discussing the audit with him. The telephone conversation indicates that on May 15 of the current year, the Columbia Corporation made an accommodation endorsement of a 60-day $430,000 note issued by a major customer, Brill Corporation, to its bank. The purpose of the telephone call from Brill was to inform your client that the note had been paid at the maturity date. You had not been aware of the existence of the note before overhearing the telephone call.
From an ethical standpoint, do you think the auditors would be justified in acting on information acquired in this manner?
Should the balance sheet as of June 30 disclose the contingent liability? Give reasons for your answer.
Prepare a list of auditing procedures that might have brought the contingency to light. Explain fully the likelihood of detection of the accommodation endorsement by each procedure listed.

  • Analyzing Advertising Techniques: A Closer Look at Target Audience and Strategies

    write a five-paragraph essay (minimum)
    Lesson 4.1:
Determine the type of advertisement (brand, retail, directory, political, direct response, native, or PSA).
    Identify the target audience.
Identify & explain the techniques used specific to the type of advertisement.
You will use APA format to cite your sources. Your sources can be the lessons in the course as well as the specific advertisement that you are analyzing.
Your text should be cited at the end of the essay on its own page that has the title “References” using this example format for a guide. These are only examples of how to cite the lesson, not how to cite the source for your selected ad. Each lesson in the module will have its own source citation.
Excel High School. (2022a). “Lesson 4.2: Advertising Strategies.” English 10. Retrieved April 22, 2022, from *insert URL for the lesson here without the asterisks*.
Excel High School. (2022b). “Lesson 4.5: Analyzing an Advertisement.” English 10. Retrieved April 22, 2022, from *insert URL for the lesson here without the asterisks*.
Because you will be using sources with the same author (Excel High School) and the same year (2022), you will organize the sources in alphabetical order by the name of the lesson (Lesson 4.1 would be listed first) and then when you use in-text citation, you will label them with a, b, c, d, or e as you saw in the References page example. See below for an example of the in-text citation format.
Bandwagon strategy is “a marketing tool that relies on using people’s fear of missing out or a desire to belong to the in-group in order to gain consumers” (Excel High School, 2022a).
The “a” in the in-text citation refers to the first lesson listed on your “References” page; in this case, Lesson 4.2 is listed first.
This assignment will use the Excel General Rubric. You can find a video about the rubric to view, but the rubric is also found in this assignment as well. Be sure to review the rubric before you begin working on the assignment. That way, you will fully understand how you will be scored on this written assessment.
