As a sports information, or public relations person in the sports industry, you will write a lot of news/press releases. Write your own sports news release on a sports topic

focus on whether you were able to garner all the necessary information about the person, place, or thing based on the release.

“A press release is simply a statement prepared for distribution to the news media announcing something claimed as having news value with the intent of gaining media coverage.”

The release should provide who, what, where, when, why, and how in the first one or two sentences. This is the opening paragraph, and should never be more than one paragraph.

The body of the news release should provide additional information pertinent to the subject. Depending on the release, the body should be one or two paragraphs, with each paragraph being three to five sentences. The body is the story part of the news release.

The last paragraph is the boilerplate. This provides an overview of the company or organization, a quick snapshot. This is similar to the About Us section of most company websites, although the boilerplate may be a shortened version.

All press releases need to include point of contact information, which goes at the very top. There should also be something that signifies the end. Many public relations people will center ### at the bottom of the page to signify the end. In the sports industry it is also common to see the team name, initials, or such at the end of the list.

  • Original research examples include interviews, polls, questionnaires, observations, experiments, case studies, and other methods of collecting information beneficial to your thesis.

    Overview

The major project in this class is your persuasive research ppr. Your research ppr must be a 10-12 page (approximately 2500-3000 word) that takes a clearly definable stance regarding an issue, supports it with credible research, and defends it effectively in an appropriate academic writing style.  The ppr should demonstrate the standards of good argumentation.

    Research Requirements

For your final ppr you will be required to utilize information from the following areas:

    1. Internet— 1 – 4 sources
    2. Academic Journals, Articles, and/or Periodicals— 4 – 7 sources
    3. Academic Book— 1 – 7 sources
    4. Biblical— 1 source
    5. Original Research— 1 source

    Notes:

    1. Source selections for a., b., and c. must meet the standards of credibility established in this class.  Students must evaluate each source for accuracy and authority.
    2. Your biblical reference requires substantial support for your thesis from whatever translation of the Bible you choose.  Link your research meaningfully with scripture as best you can.
    3. Original research examples include interviews, polls, questionnaires, observations, experiments, case studies, and other methods of collecting information beneficial to your thesis.  For example, a university is a wonderful place to seek interviews with knowledgeable sources (faculty experts in diverse disciplines).
    4. However you decide on the numbers for each kind of source, the total number of sources must be 14 minimum.

    Format

Your ppr should be composed in proper MLA format, including headers, page-numbering, font, paragraphing, line spacing, documentation, and the Work Cited page.

Culture defines the unique lifestyle for a nation or region. Since businesses locate their factories, call centers, warehouses, and offices around the world, operations managers must be sensitive and understand the local culture. Notions of authority, time, color, value, respect, humor, work ethic, manners, and social status may be quite different from one’s own cultural norms. Some companies employ global-sourcing agents to assist with identifying these cultural differences.

Explain why it is important for operations managers to understand the local cultures and practices of the countries in which a firm does business. What are some of the potential consequences if they do not?

  • Develop A Disaster Management Plan, In The Form Of A Presentation, For Addressing The Risks You’ve Identified In Your Risk Assessment.

In your first assessment, you assessed risks and areas of need for a potential crisis situation and community you chose to focus on. In this assessment, you’ll develop a disaster management plan for actually addressing the risks you identified earlier, and you’ll do it in the form of a presentation.

As a master’s-prepared nurse, you may well find yourself in situations that call for you to lead by bringing different stakeholders and representatives of agencies together. For this assessment, imagine that you’re making a presentation to a group of leaders of local, state, and federal organizations. You’ve been tasked with giving clarity for the management of a disaster.

As with your previous assessment, you’ll need to incorporate research to share the most relevant and applicable knowledge in the field about how to handle the type of situation you’ve selected. This will also make your plan more compelling. So be sure to spend time researching information about experiences and solutions for the type of disaster you’re focusing on. Also, if you haven’t already, familiarize yourself with PowerPoint or similar software.
