Introduction
Introduction: Introduce the topic of this paper. In general, what will you do and what should the reader expect? Identify that here.
Selected Case Study
Here you should provide a brief conceptualization of a client from the case studies provided in the Learning Resources for the week. Be sure not to simply repeat the case study but conceptualize in your own words.
Clinical Interview Questions
Identify 4 questions that you would ask this client as part of a clinical interview/assessment and explain why these questions are important. These would not be the only questions asked in a clinical interview, but what are areas you would like to focus on and what seem like important questions to ask? Why do you want this information? Display that you understand how a clinical interview might work and which areas you need information about to inform diagnosis and treatment planning. Provide citations to support your rationale.
Assessment Instruments
Select and review 2 assessment instruments that you would use with this client. Why are you selecting these two instruments over others? How do (these) assessments help inform diagnosis? Focus of at least one assessment should be on addictive behaviors. Provide rationale and citations for your choices.
Preliminary Diagnosis
What is the preliminary diagnosis or diagnoses you are considering for this client? Why? It would be beneficial to talk through criteria being met (use DSM-V), areas that you are unclear about or need to explore in more depth, etc. The primary focus should be on addictive behavior, need to also consider co-occurring possibilities if that is a part of your case. Diagnosis should be specific. Rationale and citations should be provided.
Additional Information Needed
Identify what more you need to know to complete the diagnostic process with this client. Do you need more background information? More symptom information? More contextual information? Are you considering co-occurring disorders that you need more information about? Would you like to obtain collateral information?
Conclusion
In this section, summarize the key points of your paper. Be sure to support your points with in-text citations from the learning resources and outside sources.
